Telford L. Straight better known in this city as "Dock," died at the family residence on High street on Saturday at 9 o'clock after a painful illness of seven weeks duration, the immediate cause of which was exposure and disease contacted in the army. The deceased was born November 29, 1845 in Marion county, Virginia, and at the time of his death was 43 years old. He enlisted us a soldier to help put down the Rebellion, August 8, 1861, becoming a member of company C 6th Regiment Virginia Infantry from which was transferred to Battery A First Virginia Artillery in which he served until ill health demanded his retirement. He was mustered out at Wheeling in April 1863. In 1865 the family removed to Illinois, and in 1876 removed to this city where they have since resided. The deceased was a quite, unobtrusive citizen. well liked by everyone He was unmarried and lived with his father and sister. The funeral occurred on Sunday evening at 5 o'clock. Rev. G W.
